Some Musicals I Would Recommend

Hey there! Everyone has heard of musicals at some point or another. However, most people wouldn't necessarily pay attention to them long enough to memorize them. Still, there's the select few who listen and pay attention. That's what the fandom is made of. The people who listened long enough to the shows to remember them and make new ideas about them. I guess it's like any other fandom really. Other people may want to jump right in and learn more about them. Maybe some even want to join but don't know any musicals that they'd be interested in. Here's where this list comes in. As you can tell by the title, this is a short list of some musicals I recommend. While I don't know if they're really musicals you should start out with, they are musicals that I have enjoyed and want others to listen to.

Hamilton: An American Musical
If you haven't been living under a rock, you probably know about Hamilton. For those of you who may not know thought, this is a musical about the life and death of Alexander Hamilton. He was one of the founding fathers of the United States if you didn't know. There is some cussing and some references to sex though so stay away if those aren't things for you.

Newsies
I don't know how well known this musical is but I fell in love with it. It was created by Disney based off of the movie which was based off of the real story about the Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. It's really interesting and I really enjoyed it!

Dear Evan Hansen
This musical is a bit more complicated to explain. It's also not one for everyone. It tells the story of Evan Hansen who  has extreme social anxiety. He basically puts himself into a tragedy that he doesn't belong in. It does deal with suicide though so it's not for everyone. However, the songs are amazing and some of the actors are really attractive. If you can deal with the more difficult parts, it's really an amazing musical.

Les Miserables
This musical is what introduced me to musicals (unless we're counting some children movies). It's a little difficult for me to explain but it's based off of the book. I'm going to use the Wikipedia explanation even though it doesn't completely cover everything. Still, hopefully it's enough to make you interested: "Set in early 19th-century France, it is the story of Jean Valjean, a French peasant, and his quest for redemption after serving nineteen years in jail for having stolen a loaf of bread for his sister's starving child. Valjean decides to break his parole and start his life anew after a kindly bishop inspires him by a tremendous act of mercy, but he is relentlessly tracked down by a police inspector named Javert. Along the way, Valjean and a slew of characters are swept into a revolutionary period in France, where a group of young idealists make their last stand at a street barricade."

Well, there are some musicals I hope you will enjoy. If anyone else has any, please post them in the comments below! Thanks for reading!
